A blue belt faces off against a black belt at an AGF tournament. They're hand fighting, testing grips, and the black belt drops for a guard pull. He's hunting legs immediately, entering ashi garami and isolating the blue belt's right leg. Most competitors panic here. This one doesn't.

The blue belt stays heavy, pins his knee down, and controls the hips. He's defending the leg lock with solid positioning, not scrambling. The black belt can't finish the attack and has to make a choice. Stay stuck or turn away. He turns, exposing his back.

Bad move. The blue belt takes it fast, getting the seatbelt grip while the black belt turtles up. The black belt posts with his left arm, trying to stay off his side, but the blue belt reaches under and strips the post. Structure collapses. Now he's flat and the rear naked choke is coming.

The arm slides under the chin. Hips align. Pressure tightens. Will the black belt escape or is this over? Can he defend the choke, or did turning away from the leg attack cost him everything?

Great technique breakdown! The back take was clean.
