6-Week White Belt Holder Chokes Out Stronger Opponent
A six-week white belt tests his BJJ skills against a much stronger untrained opponent in the backyard. The stronger guy in black immediately grabs a headlock and holds tight with pure strength. But the BJJ practitioner stays calm. He knows the headlock isn't a real threat. He can still breathe. He waits patiently for his opponent's arms to tire out while maintaining side control position.
The commentary crew keeps talking, oblivious to what's happening. Someone thinks the top guy is about to pass out. They don't understand. The white belt isn't in danger at all. He's waiting. The strong guy's grip finally weakens. The BJJ practitioner passes to full side control and transitions smoothly to an armbar attempt. His opponent explodes out with raw power, giving up his back in the process.
The white belt takes what's available. He secures back control and starts working for the rear naked choke. His opponent has nothing left in the tank. The choke sinks in but the execution isn't perfect. The non-choking arm comes over the head instead of behind it. Against a trained opponent, this would get defended. Against someone with zero grappling experience, it works anyway.
Will the strong guy tap or go out? Can untrained strength overcome six weeks of technique and patience?
